Gore Wins Nobel
Gore, U.N. Body Win Nobel Peace Prize – washingtonpost.com
The Norwegian Nobel Committee characterized Gore as “the single individual who has done most” to convince world governments and leaders that climate change is real, is caused by human activity and poses a grave threat. Gore has focused on the issue through books, promotional events and his Academy Award-winning documentary “An Inconvenient Truth.”
Some say Gore has overstated the urgency of the global warming situation. The way I see it, even if that’s true — and I have no reason to believe it is — when you take into account how slow people are to get off their butts and actually do something, it really IS a crisis. By the time the skeptics finally get it through their thick skulls that, gee, maybe this really is a big deal, it could be too late to do anything about it. That’s why it’s so important to start NOW.
Our president — known throughout the world to be pretty much a complete idiot — seems to think we shouldn’t do anything until ALL the other big polluters also agree to make big changes. Hello?? We’re not talking about bedtime for eight-year-olds here! Even if the United States is the only country to make changes, it will still make a positive difference in the health of our planet. And once we’ve implemented changes, we could serve as an example of how to do it.
God, how I hate George Bush.
Sorry… just had to say that.
Anyway, congratulations to Al Gore and the scientists of the IPCC.
I so want Al Gore to be our next president. Maybe he’s too good for it, though. Kind of like Jimmy Carter was.

This has to be the first Nobel given out to somebody who hasnt actually DONE anything about the topic he or she is awarded for. I should be given some sort of adult film award for the things Ive gone over in my mind with Eva Longoria and any (or all) of the Victorias Secret models. Maybe the little train that could should get one to!!! for believing he really could do it.Amazing how much people hate George Bush. he is like mad peoples sounding board. WTF does he have to do with how bad (if its true) the air quality is? Even IF HE WAS in charge of air quality control…its only been 7 years or so. Im sure it will be clened right up immediatly following Hillarys swearing in and there was no problem when Bill was in…..just the past 7 years.Sometimes I wish Democrats WOULD just take a mind clearing pill that would erase george Bush from thier mind…they would be happier and then they could concentrate on fixing problems instead of blaming some rich white European male that has become pop culture to do.lame. You may want also to consider that georgie boy is only the Air Quality Control King/CEO in the USA…not even all of North America. Thank God (jeez we should blame him too!!) every other country on the face of this planet, and everyone in charge of ships and transatlantic cargo is on the straight and narrow.naaaaaaaw. that would be so uncool to judge a politician from somewhere outside the USA. We are self-proclaimed patriots because we promote unbridled, unproven, ambiguous hateon our own people. Then you wonder why the rest of the world thinks we are idiots. Yes i said WE. George, you and me.
